Riverside County Appoints New Counsel

"We had the best prospects for this important job," board chairman Jeff Stone said.

Riverside City Attorney Greg Priamos was selected to succeed County Counsel Pamela Walls, who will retire next month, a spokesman said this week.

Priamos was one of two candidates interviewed for the post Tuesday by members of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors.

Walls is set to step down July 29. The county counsel gives legal advice to more than 40 county department heads, spokesman Raymond Smith said.
