Riverside County Has Two New Judges
Gov. Jerry Brown appointed the men— both Democrats— on Wednesday.

Two Riverside County attorneys were appointed to judgeships Wednesday by Gov. Jerry Brown.
Susanne Cho, 48, and James Latting, 65, both of Palm Desert, will fill vacancies created by the retirements of two longtime judges.
Cho, whom the governor’s office said is the first Korean-American woman to serve on the Riverside County Superior Court bench, currently works at the law offices of Rodney Lee Soda. She joined the desert firm in 2004 after 10 years with the county Office of the Public Defender.

Latting has been at the Indian Wells firm Roemer and Harnik for 12 years. His legal career spans more than three decades, according to the governor’s office.
Cho will fill the seat left open following the retirement of Judge David Downing; Latting will fill the seat of former Judge Gary Tranbarger.
