Riverside County Lawmakers Safe After Capitol Building Stormed
Reps. Ken Calvert (R-Corona), Darrell Issa (R-Vista), Raul Ruiz (D-Coachella Valley), and Mark Takano (D-Riverside) were all safe.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Three congressmen who represent Riverside County and who were in the U.S. Capitol Wednesday for the Electoral College certification process are reported safe following a breach by protestors and a lockdown.
Rep. Ken Calvert (R-Corona), Rep. Raul Ruiz (D-Coachella Valley), and Rep. Mark Takano (D-Riverside) were reported unharmed amid the Washington D.C. turmoil.
The U.S. Capitol is on lockdown, I am safe. But I cannot believe that it has gotten to this point, my heart breaks for our country today. Trump has enabled this behavior by peddling conspiracies and lies and incited violence. Every one of my Republican colleagues must condemn it.

The protestors disrupting the constitutional process right now must back down and let Congress do their job. This is no way to express their disappointment in the election process. Violence is never acceptable.
