Riverside County Moves Closer To Schools, More Biz Reopening
On Monday, the county's COVID-19 positivity and case rates neared the state's criteria for reopening more industry sectors.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Riverside County's latest case and positivity rates show the region is even closer to moving on to the next level of reopening the local economy.
According to state data released Monday, the county's positivity rate was 8.6 percent. The state threshold is 8 percent or lower for counties to progress toward reopening more industry sectors beyond those allowed Monday.
The county's daily case rate was reported at 10.4 cases per 100,000 people, the data showed. The state threshold is four to seven cases per 100,000.

On Monday, Riverside University Health System - Public Health reported 52,909 COVID-19 cases, an uptick of 1,049 since Friday's reporting. Of the total cases, 43,387 people have recovered from illness.

The death toll rose by 12 to 1,019 over the weekend.
The number of people currently hospitalized for COVID-19 was reported at 210 Monday, a decrease of 13 since Friday. Of the total number currently hospitalized, 73 patients are in ICU — a dip of nine people over the weekend.
Total COVID-19 tests conducted countywide stand at 522,708.
