Riverside, San Bernardino Co. Catholics: Meat OKed For Friday's St. Paddy's Day
The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Bernardino says you're free to enjoy that corned beef this Lenten Friday.
SAN BERNARDINO CATHOLIC DIOCESE — Many Southern California Catholics looking forward to corned beef and cabbage on Saint Patrick's Day can enjoy it guilt free: The Diocese of San Bernardino has said it's okay to eat meat on this particular Lenten Friday.
Bishop Gerald R. Barnes has granted the faithful in the area a dispensation to eat meat on St. Patrick's Day, officials with the diocese tell Patch. Most Catholics abstain from eating meat on Fridays during Lent.
The Diocese of San Bernardino includes parishes throughout Riverside and San Bernardino counties. A full list of them can be found here.
