Riverside Supes Ponder Countywide Emergency Alert System
The texts or emails would notify residents of floods, fires or other events.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA - The Riverside County Board of Supervisors will consider today a contract with an emergency notification network operator that would be responsible for keeping Riverside County residents informed of floods, fires and other events that could pose a threat to public safety.
The county Emergency Management Department will be asking the board to sign off on a $225,000 agreement with SwiftReach Networks Inc. of Mahwah, NJ. That company would erect and maintain a countywide Early Warning Notification System over the next three years. It would notify the public of emergency incidents via voice messages ... text or e-mail ... in several foreign languages where necessary.
