The city of Calimesa is asking people not to drop off any donations at fire shelters. Here are the best ways to help the victims.

CALIMESA, CA — Last week's devastating Sandalwood Fire took two lives and destroyed dozens of homes — but neighbors are stepping up to help victims.
The city of Calimesa is asking people not to drop off any donations at victim shelters. Instead, here are the places around Calimesa accepting donations to benefit fire victims:
Sanctuary Church in Calimesa is taking monetary donations for the victims in the form of cash, gift cards or checks (made out to "Sandalwood Incident Fund."). You can donate online here or drop off donations at the church: 1090 5th St., Suite 102, Calimesa.

Oak Valley Church in Yucaipa is accepting material donations such as clothing, toiletries, blankets and food. You can drop them off at the church: 13553 Calimesa Blvd., Yucaipa.
Yucaipa Family Assistance is accepting donations of household items and non-perishable food — especially blankets, bedding, outerwear and personal hygiene items. Drop them off at 35076 Ave. B, Yucaipa.

Deseret Industries Thrift Store in Calimesa is taking material donations. Drop them off at the store: 1197 Calimesa Blvd., Calimesa.
The Community Foundation, a charity serving the Riverside County area, is accepting donations to its Inland Empire Disaster Relief Fund. Proceeds will go to recovery efforts, the foundation said. You can also send a check, made payable to The Community Foundation with "Sandalwood Fire" in the memo line, to The Community Foundation, 3700 Sixth St. Suite 200, Riverside, CA 92501.
SoCal Fires Disaster Relief is taking donations that help LAFD firefighters and Red Cross volunteers, providing tools, equipment and other disaster relief resources.
The Salvation Army has a fund set up for California Wildfire victims.
United Way of the Inland Valleys is taking contributions that will benefit fire victims.
