Second Suspect Arrested In Banning Shooting
The shooting was reported in the area of Almond Way and Nicolet Street.
BANNING, CA — A second man has been arrested following a shooting in Banning, the Banning Police Department announced Thursday morning.
David Anthony Aleman, 26, was taken into custody by Banning police at 4:08 p.m. Wednesday on suspicion of possession of a deadly weapon, obstructing police, possession of an assault weapon, assault weapon sales, and being an accessory to a crime, jail records show.
According to Banning police, Aleman was helping to hide Willie Budda Scott, 26, who allegedly opened fire in Banning Wednesday morning and was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday, Banning police received calls about shots fired in the area of Almond Way and Nicolet Street. When officers arrived, "a crime scene and a victim were located," the department reported.
It's not immediately clear if the victim was struck by gunfire.

An investigation involving Banning police and the Riverside County Sheriff's Department led to identifying Scott as the suspect and jail records show he was arrested at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday on E. George Street in Banning by Banning police.
Aleman was also arrested on E. George Street by Banning PD. Police said several illegal firearms were found stashed at the location, and Aleman helped hide Scott from law enforcement
Aleman was being held in lieu of a $22,500 bond, while bail for Scott has been set at $1 million.
Both men are being held at Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
