SIGALERT: Semi-Truck Topples In Calimesa, Snarling Traffic Thursday

California Highway Patrol and emergency responders dealt with a semi-truck crash much of Thursday.

CALIMESA, CA — Eastbound I-10 was still at a crawl Thursday afternoon after a semi-truck toppled hours before.

At 5 a.m., a semi-truck heading east on I-10 toppled shortly before the Calimesa Boulevard offramp.

The truck, loaded with 70,000 pounds of cargo, was "on its side" for as of yet unknown reasons, according to CHP dispatch operators.

A SIGALERT was put in place at 5:30 a.m., and lanes were reduced during the significant cleanup. Though it was expected to remain until 2:30 p.m., lane closures remained in place as of 3:30 p.m. and traffic through the area remained at a crawl, according to drivers in the area.

One person suffered a minor injury from the incident, according to CHP.
