Starbucks Moving Into Old Denny's Restaurant Locale In Beaumont
The vacant building will be torn down and a new drive-thru Starbucks will be constructed at the spot where the I-10 and state Route 79 meet.

BEAUMONT, CA — The vacant Denny's restaurant building off Interstate 10 in Beaumont is planned to become a new Starbucks with a drive-thru.
During Tuesday's Beaumont Planning Commission meeting, commissioners voted 4-0 to approve a plot plan and conditional use permit for the project at 449 E. Fourth Street.
The old Denny's building located on the .64-acre spot where Interstate 10 and state Route 79 meet will be torn down and a new 2,200 square-foot Starbucks restaurant will be constructed in its place. The plan includes 22 parking spaces for Starbucks customers.

In order to make the project work, the project applicant Orum Capital agreed to purchase two city-owned parcels just to the south of the site. The two vacant commercial parcels total just under a half-acre, according to the Riverside County Assessor's Office. Purchase negotiations were discussed in closed session of the Aug. 3 City Council meeting, city documents show.
Beaumont currently has two Starbucks locations operating within its city limits. The new Starbucks is planning to be open from 4:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, according to city documents.

Planning Commission Vice-Chair Nathan Smith expressed concern during Tuesday's meeting that the project site is "tricky" for motorists to navigate given its proximity to SR-79 and the I-10 on- and off-ramps, but there was no further discussion about traffic issues.
