TAX DAY 2016: Select California Post Offices Extend Hours, Will Be Open Late Tonight

It's finally here. The day we have been dreaming about all year long.

Okay, maybe it's been more of a nightmare? Either way, the Tax Man cometh.

For anyone out there who is still finishing up their 2015 income tax returns, the midnight deadline is quickly approaching. Because of a holiday in the nation’s capital, the filing deadline to submit 2015 tax returns is Monday, April 18, 2016, rather than the traditional April 15 date, which has come and gone.

For those are are working up until the last minute and won't be submitting a return online, the traditional post office will be your next stop. Most U.S.P.S. locations will close at their normal times, but there are a handful which will remain open much later, to allow customers the chance of getting their envelopes postmarked on April 18.

There are four locations in Southern California that will be open late for Tax Day. In the Bay Area and Sacramento, there are five locations with later hours.

The following offices and processing & distribution centers will be extending mail collection hours as follows:

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
