Threat To Beaumont High Deemed Not Credible: Police
A message made its rounds this week about a shooting planned for Thursday at a "BHS," according to police.

BEAUMONT, CA — Another "BHS" threat was investigated this week by Beaumont police, after a social media message made its way into town. The message — which told students to stay home Thursday because a school shooting was going to happen — was "not credible," police said.
Police got word of the Snapchat post on Wednesday and "immediately began investigating," the agency said.
"The posting was shared on social media from an original post that was traced back to a juvenile in the City of Corcoran, located in Kings County, California," according to the Beaumont Police Department. "The student in that case has been arrested by authorities."

Police said the case can serve as a reminder to parents to monitor their child's social media accounts and "have a conversation about the seriousness of posting references to violence or threats to schools."
Last month, a similar "BHS" threat scared students at both Banning and Beaumont high schools. That case was also linked to a different "BHS" — one in New Mexico, according to police. A high school sophomore was arrested in connection to that case.
