Tickets Selling Fast for Annual Tri-Tip Dinner Benefiting Kids Free Fishing Tournament

Tickets are selling quickly for the annual All-You-Can-Eat Tri-Tip Dinner on Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Golden Era Golf Course clubhouse, a popular community fundraiser that helps make the Annual Kids Free Fishing Tournament possible.

Each year, the nonprofit Kids Free Fishing Tournament provides a full day of outdoor fun for more than 250 children who fish the three lakes at Golden Era Golf Course. During last year's event, young anglers caught more than 170 fish while enjoying a day designed to introduce families to the sport of fishing.

Every child who participates receives a commemorative tournament T-shirt and a goodie bag, while families and friends are provided with breakfast and lunch. Trophies and prizes are awarded in two age divisions for the largest fish caught during the tournament.

Organizers say it takes year-round fundraising to provide the event free of charge for participating families, making the annual Tri-Tip Dinner one of the organization's most important fundraisers.

In addition to an all-you-can-eat tri-tip dinner, guests can look forward to one of the evening's most anticipated traditions—the dessert silent auction. Instead of simply choosing a dessert, attendees bid on homemade cakes, pies, and other treats, creating a lively and entertaining competition.

Last year's auction featured spirited bidding throughout the evening, including an unforgettable showdown over a six-layer homemade chocolate cake that drew enthusiastic bidders until the final seconds. The friendly rivalry has become a highlight of the event and continues to add to the fun while raising additional funds for the tournament.

The evening will also feature a no-host bar with specialty drinks and live music, giving guests the opportunity to dance to the live band and enjoy a night out while supporting a worthwhile community cause.

The fundraiser will be held Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Golden Era Golf Course clubhouse. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., with dinner served at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person for the all-you-can-eat tri-tip dinner.
