Traffic Nightmare on I-10 in Beaumont Due to Overturned Big Rig

BEAUMONT, CA- Traffic was going at a snail's pace Sunday afternoon along part of Interstate 10 in the Beaumont area, after a semi truck overturned on the roadway.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident was first reported on the eastbound side of the freeway, just west of Brookside, around 3 p.m.

As of 4:15 p.m., the truck lay on its side, and traffic was backed up for several miles east, into the Calimesa area. In the other direction, traffic was backed up to Oak Valley Parkway westbound, as onlookers slowed to view the wreckage.

The eastbound number three lane was closed in the area, as crews worked to upright the rig and clean up what appeared to be several hundred cases of water that fell out of the trailer.
