Two Riverside Companies Fined by EPA

JC Greasebuyers and SoCal Pumping were fined for not complying with federal standards in oil storage.

Two Riverside companies were fined for violating federal oil pollution prevention regulations, the Environmental Protection Agency announced,

JC Greasebuyers was fined $2,400 for failing to provide a proper plan for storing oil in improper storage containers and failing to implement a tank integrity testing program to prevent releases, said Jared Blumenfeld, an EPA regional administrator.

SoCal Pumping was fined $1,900 for failing to have an adequate plan and complete inspection records.

“All companies who store oil must comply with federal standards,” Blumenfeld said. “Facilities are required to prevent spills and be prepared to respond to a worst case oil discharge emergency. Preventing spills and protecting our waterways from oil spills is essential.”
