Investigators were probing the cause of a fire that ripped through Ray's RV in Banning just after 8 p.m. Thursday.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was undetermined and being investigated, Smith said.

"We've had Ray's RV 20 years," Ray's RV owner Ray Boyd, 63, told Banning-Beaumont Patch as he surveyed the damage. "We've been here since 2001. This is our first fire."

Boyd counted five, then recounted and said four motor homes were "destroyed totally."

"Some of these others, I haven't look at," Boyd said. "There were explosions that might have damaged them."

Smith walked up and said the total damage was estimated at $1 million, half of that to motor homes and half to the structure they were stored in.

Boyd said the totaled motor homes belonged to customers who brought them to Ray's RV for service. The business specializes in motor home sales, exterior and interior servicing, and parts.

"We got to call the owners and we got to call the insurance," Boyd said.
