What Time Do Polls Close, Elections End in California?
Find out how long you have until the polling locations across the state close- and when 2016 primary election results will be made available
With nearly 18 million people registered to vote in the state of California and all eyes on the Hillary-Bernie race-- along with hundreds of other local races-- it's safe to say that today is a big deal.
For anyone who needs to drop by your local polling location to cast your vote, or simply to drop off a vote-by-mail ballot, you have until 8 p.m. PST. Keep in mind, if you are in line before 8 p.m.-- you still have the right to vote.

According to the Secretary of State, ballots being personally delivered must be handed in by the close of polls on June 7, 2016. Mailed ballots must be postmarked on or before June 7 and received by your county elections office no later than June 10.

The registrar of voters from each of California's 58 counties will begin releasing election results at their discretion, after 8 p.m. Some counties will have results just after the polls close., while others won't start releasing results until later. In most locations, the first wave of results will include vote-by-mail ballots returned before June 7.
