Yucaipa Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament Raises Funds for Local Seniors

A successful golf fundraiser organized by the Yucaipa Chamber was held at the Golden Era Golf Course for non profit Smiles 4 Seniors.

Yucaipa, CA — The Yucaipa Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a successful golf fundraiser at Golden Era Golf Course to benefit the nonprofit organization Smiles 4 Seniors, which provides vital support to seniors in the Yucaipa community.

Smiles 4 Seniors assists local seniors who are struggling with rising living costs by helping with essential needs such as food, rent assistance, utility bills, and other basic expenses. As inflation continues to impact those living on fixed incomes, the organization has seen an increasing number of seniors needing help.

“The cost of living has gone up, but Social Security has not kept pace,” said the president of Smiles 4 Seniors. “Some seniors are facing electricity bills that are more than they can afford. One couple could only pay a portion of their bill each month, and it kept growing until it was more than $6,000. That was far beyond their means and became a serious problem. We could only help with part of it. This golf fundraiser will allow us to help even more seniors in our community.”

The Chamber’s Executive Director, who participated in the tournament, emphasized the importance of the effort. “It’s wonderful that we can support Smiles 4 Seniors. It’s a worthwhile cause and there is a real need right now. Thanks to all our sponsors and to Golden Era Golf Course, which is exclusively available for nonprofit use at no cost, we were able to make this donation possible.”

The Yucaipa Chamber of Commerce continues to support initiatives that strengthen the local community and assist those most in need.
