Zacatecas Cafe East authentic Mexican Food, yes ~ Artistic Atmosphere a Bonus

When Oscar and Josephine Medina, Jon’s parents opened Zacatecas Cafe in Riverside in 1963 did they always know, or did they only imagine there would be an additional Zacatecas, I wonder. When did they decide to set out, when did the idea to venture out I wonder, what did their son Jon say. I wonder because I remember what the site looked like before Zacatecas Cafe East became the fabulous cafe it is today. I thought it might be demolished, or at least it was going to need much work, that was over three years ago. Economic development is what Jon Medina, and his wife Vicky have brought to the area, I thank them for that. It brings hope to that area of our downtown.

Now their fabulous restaurant and cuisine; the restaurant is across from our soon to be opened - Justice Center. The decor is that of beautiful colors you might find in Majorca, and the frames are prints of artist I believe Diego, very comfortable seating, and the food, sauce has flavor - very good, reminded me of my maternal grandmothers sauces, not just another restaurant. I like the location, the atmosphere, and oh the service. You feel as though you are in another setting Majorca, perfect for a lunch getaway I thought, and yes you can carry - or at least I could carry a comfortable conversation; excellent service. Jon, Vicky, Ashley and all there are wonderful people, kind - I found different, genuine, I will go back.
