• CA investigators seek public's help in '70s cold case involving woman with Bellingham ties (cascadiadaily.com) — Investigators are revisiting a 1970s homicide after confirming that 19-year-old Rebecca Jean McMahan was last seen in Bell Gardens on July 11, 1973 before planning to travel toward Palm Springs. Her body was found in Desert Hot Springs in 1974 and only identified this year through advanced DNA testing, and Riverside County's cold case team is now asking anyone with memories or information from Bell Gardens or nearby communities to come forward.
