Belmont Woman Crashes Into Car, House While DUI At 6 A.M.: Police

Belmont police say the woman crashed into a car and then backed down the driveway, across the street and into a home.

BELMONT, CA — A Belmont woman is accused of DUI after crashing into a parked car and the front porch of a local home — all before 6:30 in the morning. Denise Adams, 42, was hospitalized with "unspecified injuries," following the incident, but no other injuries were reported, police said.

It happened around 6:25 a.m. Thursday in the 2000 block of Monroe Avenue, according to Belmont Police Capt. Patrick Halleran.

"Upon arrival, first responders found a 2014 Nissan Versa had backed into the front porch area of the home," Halleran said in a news release.

Investigators believe Adams had been driving along Monroe Avenue when she turned into a local driveway, possibly trying to make a 3-point turn, according to Halleran. That's when the first crash happened.

"As she did so, Adams struck a 2001 Acura that was parked in the driveway," Halleran said. "After striking the Acura, Adams backed up, going across the street and down the driveway of another home where she collided with the front of the residence and came to rest."

When emergency personnel spoke with Adams at the scene, she complained of pain and was transported to the hospital as a precaution, Halleran said. She was cited for DUI, he said.
