LONG BEACH, CA — Here is a look at what made headlines in Belmont Shore and Long Beach this week.

The Just Like Heaven Festival took over the Queen Mary Park last weekend. It had all the bands that were probably on your iPod (when iPods were still a thing), including headliners: Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT and Beach House. The crowd, comprised of mostly millennials, jammed out like they were in high school again — exactly the lineup and atmosphere Just Like Heaven cultivated. A fire damaged the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority house near Cal State Long Beach earlier this week. A firefighter was taken to a hospital for treatment of a minor injury, fire officials said. Firefighters also rescued three people from a balcony. Read more here.

Also CSULB related: graffiti threatening a shooting was found in a bathroom on campus. However, after an exhaustive investigation by authorities, the threat was deemed not credible, according to school President Jane Close Conoley. Read more here.

Lastly, a man was missing after running away from a care facility group Friday. The 37-year-old was last seen running south on Paramount Boulevard toward South Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department. Read more here.
