Think Cool. It's Snowing in Colorado: Lemonade Day

When life gives you lemons, make Community Lemonade in Long Beach with me. Day 76 - Thinking it cool on a very hot day.

. I'm taking the opportunity of this unplanned time off to share stories of the many artists and creators in this wonderful city that I love. Come with me on my 100-day odyssey of art and creativity in Long Beach. I call it .

The weather report shows a high of 101 F in Belmont Shore yesterday.  Today's high was 100 F.  It's hard to keep cool when it's so hot outside.

September 15th was Day 76.  I'm thinking of ways to cool down.

Think about your friends in Colorado.  Winter Park had its first dusting of snow three days ago.

If you don't have friends in Colorado, perhaps you've experienced a blizzard.  You can transport yourself back to that time.  And shiver. I've been through snowstorms and blizzards in Chicago, Denver and Washington D.C.  Tell your friends stories about those times.

When the kids were playing soccer, a great cooling tool was a small washcloth, soaked in water and then frozen.  At the right time, the cloth would come out and be an icy, refreshing towel!

List as many words for snow in different forms as you can, thinking about where you might find that snow.

Go to the mall or the movies.  It's air conditioned!

Duh, go swimming!

Fill your bathtub with iced water or take a cool shower.

Pour a bucket (or a bottle) of water on your head and don't dry off.  Stand in front of a fan.

Eat ice cream, watermelon or a snow cone.  I know, put cut watermelon into the freezer and eat when frozen. (I don't know if this work... but it sounds good.)

Think back to a time when Thrifty ice cream was 15c a scoop.  Remember then?
