Bomb Threats Target Magic Mountain

SANTA CLARITA, CA — Authorities responded to Six Flags Magic Mountain Monday morning following multiple bomb threats, according to authorities.

Deputies responded to Six Flags after the threat was made just before 8 a.m., when the park was closed, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Officials with the California Highway Patrol's Newhall Division said "multiple threats" had been made.

The threat involved at least one claim that there was a bomb on the property, KTLA reported.

Aerial footage aired by KTLA showed a large police presence at the park at around 10 a.m.

Officials had set up a command post in one of the overflow parking areas while armed deputies conducted a sweep inside the theme park, Fox 11 reported.

The park was set to open at 10:30 a.m. The California Highway Patrol said the park would remain closed indefinitely during the police operation.

Six Flags Magic Mountain issued the following statement: "We are aware of the police activity at the park and are currently monitoring the situation in coordination with local authorities."
