New Lead Found in Year-Old Murder Case

Long Beach detectives are seeking its occupants who they suspect fatally shot a Lake Elsinore man.

The Long Beach Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) or the vehicle involved in the murder of a Lake Elsinore man who was killed during a robbery on Monday, August 9, 2010, in the 1400 block of West 16th Street in Long Beach.

The Long Beach police department said in a press statement that their preliminary investigation revealed that 33-year-old Franklin Robles of Lake Elsinore had gone to the location to purchase a vehicle. Once there, Robles was approached and robbed by two male black suspects. During the robbery, the victim was shot in the upper body, transported to a local hospital, and pronounced deceased a short time later.

Through their investigation, detectives have recently learned through a witness that a tan Chevy Suburban, similar to the vehicle depicted here, was seen parked at the victim’s residence in Lake Elsinore, which investigators discovered had been burglarized after the murder in Long Beach.
