Police Chief Jim McDonnell's crime summary for Wed. Sept. 7 & Thurs. Sept. 8.

Wednesday, September 7

STRUCTURE FIRE – 600 block of Daisy Avenue – 6:00 p.m. Officers responded to assist the Long Beach Fire Department, at the scene of a structure fire, with evacuations, crowd control and traffic control. The fire was extinguished soon after police officers and firefighters arrived. -- Council District 1

ASSAULT – 1500 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard – 7:30 p.m. Officers responded to a report of shots fired and located an adult male victim. The victim sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his lower body and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The investigation is ongoing. -- Council District 6
