Long Beach Police Shoot 'Violent' Man

The shooting happened in an alley after fire department paramedics called for help in dealing with the suspect.

A male suspect was shot by police officers in Long Beach Wednesday night.

The officer-involved shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m. in the 4600 block of East 15th Street, Long Beach Police Department Sgt. Brad Johnson said.

Police had been called to the scene to help Long Beach Fire Department paramedics with an intoxicated, violent man, Johnson said.

The man was hospitalized. His condition was not known.
