Overturned Big Rig Leaks Cargo Fuel, Shuts Down Southbound 605 Freeway
All southbound lanes of the 605 Freeway are closed in Lakewood.

A big rig hauling gasoline overturned tonight on the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Lakewood, causing a fuel spill that forced closure of a stretch of the freeway.
The accident occurred near the Carson Street exit around 9:45 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos.
Only minor injuries were reported, but the fuel spillage meant it would take at least 90 minutes to re-open a single lane, and four hours to clear all lanes, Villalobos said.
