Smoke in the city of Benicia may also be coming from the Scenic Fire in Crockett and Port Costa, and from a separate fire northeast of the city in Vacaville, the Benicia Fire Department said.

"Due to poor air quality from wildfire smoke, people in sensitive groups such as those with heart or lung disease, the elderly, children, and pregnant women should limit prolonged outdoor activities," the city of Benicia said in an email. "Consider keeping doors and windows closed and sealing large gaps as much as possible. If cooling is needed, turn the air-conditioning to recirculate mode in home and car, or use ceiling fans or portable fans."
