📰 News we're reading

• Bay Area property owners speak out against proposed gas water heater ban (timesheraldonline.com) — Bay Area officials are weighing a controversial rule that would eventually require replacing broken gas water heaters with electric models, and Benicia Mayor Steve Young has already pushed for a voluntary approach instead of a strict mandate. The latest draft would delay implementation to 2028 and add exemptions for low-income owners and homes with electrical or space constraints, with a key vote set for November 4.
