Based on the film of the same name, Xanadu centers on a Greek muse who is sent to Earth to inspire Californians during the 1980s. While on earth, she meets and falls in love with an artist and helps him realize his dreams. The setting involves a roller-skating rink and the disco-y dimension of magic among the gods.

Though smaller than the usual BHS musical, over 20 students in cast and crew have worked together since January under the direction of director and choreographer Christine Mani and vocal director Chris Piazza to bring this musical to the stage. Christine Mani, director and drama teacher, said, “The students work hard all semester learning the art, craft and science of staging a first rate musical production.”
Musical Director Chris Piazza, along with his assistant student Sydney Chow, have developed the actors’ vocal musical abilities. The cast gets to sing accompanied by a 5-person live orchestra performing on stage conducted by Chris Piazza.
