Fatal Crash Involves Big-Rig, Motorcycle On I-80

VALLEJO, CA – UPDATE: THURSDAY, SEPT. 29, 10 a.m.
All lanes of westbound Interstate Highway 80 in Vallejo have opened following a fatal accident involving a motorcycle rider and a big-rig this morning.
The collision happened around 6:30 a.m. and blocked the two left lanes of the highway near Redwood Parkway.

Both lanes reopened at 9:08 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
No other details about the crash, including the identity of the motorcyclist who died, were immediately available.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 29, 8:30 a.m.
A motorcycle-big rig collision on westbound Interstate Highway 80 just before 6:30 a.m. has turned fatal, California Highway Patrol officers said.
The motorcyclist flipped near Redwood Parkway and was hit by the 18-wheel truck, according to a witness report to CHP officers.
The first and second lanes are blocked near the Redwood Parkway off-ramp due to the collision.
A Sig-alert was issued at 6:45 a.m., CHP officers said.
