Elderly Pedestrian Dies From Injuries After Hit By Pickup In Vacaville
The man, who uses a cane, was not in a crosswalk, and the driver said sun was in her eyes, police said. [Breaking]

SOLANO COUNTY, CA β Vacaville police said an 86-year-old Vacaville man who was struck by a vehicle this morning on Woodcrest Drive has died.
The incident happened between Alpine and Brown streets around 7:30 a.m., police Lt. Mark Donaldson said. The injured man was taken to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center.
The driver of the eastbound pickup stopped and called 911, police, Donaldson said. She said she did not see the man because the sun was in her eyes, Donaldson said.

The man, who uses a cane, was not crossing in a crosswalk, Donaldson said.
Police said a parked patrol car that was blocking off traffic during the investigation and treatment of the injured man was struck by a pickup but no one was injured. The driver of that pickup also said the sun
caused the crash.
