📰 News we're reading
• Bay Area property owners speak out against proposed gas water heater ban (mercurynews.com) — A proposed Bay Area Air District rule would eventually require many property owners to replace failed gas water heaters with electric models, raising cost and timing concerns across the region. Benicia Mayor Steve Young, along with Solano County Supervisor Monica Brown, previously urged shifting to a voluntary approach, but the board instead moved toward a delayed 2028 mandate with exemptions for low-income owners and difficult installations.
