Solano Community College Vallejo Adds Evening, Weekend Classes
"We listened to our Vallejo community and have put together a package of classes to meet their busy schedules."

BENICIA, CA - From Solano Community College: For those who have ever thought about starting or completing a degree, but a full-time job and other responsibilities have made it difficult, Solano Community College’s Vallejo Center is excited to now offer degree-eligible courses at times that fit into busy schedules this spring.
Starting in January 2018, Solano’s Vallejo Center will offer two evening math classes – Elementary Statistics and Intermediate Algebra. Each course is being held one evening per week or on Saturdays to fit the needs of demanding, busy schedules.
Additionally, associate degree and transfer-level courses are being offered on Saturdays in Critical Thinking and Writing About Literature, Introduction to Critical Thinking, Introduction into American Government and Politics and History of the United States to 1865. Saturday elective courses also include Introduction to Cinema and Introduction to Psychology.

“We listened to our Vallejo community and have put together a package of classes to meet their busy schedules,” said Celia Esposito-Noy, president. “These courses are transferrable to Sonoma State and other California State Universities as well as UC Schools, so our students can earn units at a much lower cost and close to home.”
Nearly a full load of classes can be taken by stacking a number of Saturday courses, along with a Tuesday or Thursday evening math course. By maximizing the available courses, students have the opportunity to enroll in up to 12 units between January 16 and May 24.

In addition to courses at the Vallejo Center, there are plenty of opportunities for current and new students to gain knowledge or pursue their educational goals at the Fairfield and Vacaville campuses too, and at only $46 per unit, now is the time to take a step toward starting college or completing that degree. Financial aid is available to students who qualify. The Solano Community College’s Vallejo Center is at 545 Columbus Parkway in Vallejo.
