Solano County Woman Wins 'World Champion Sandwich' In Vegas
She took home $10,000 for her Sin City Steak and Wright Brand ham sandwiches.

Kelli Fairchild-Cochran of Vallejo won $10,000 Sunday in the World Champion Sandwich category at the World Food Championships in Las Vegas that ends today with the selection of a World Food Champion.
The “Final Table” competition today pits champions in nine categories: barbecue, chili, burger, sandwich, recipe, dessert, bacon, pasta and seafood.
Judging is scheduled between 4-6 p.m. today.

The winner takes home $100,000.
Fairchild-Cochran’s Kelli’s Kitchen’s sandwich entries included a Sin City Steak sandwich; bacon, kale and tomato sandwich; and a Wright Brand ham sandwich.

Currently a caterer, Fairchild-Cochran has worked in the food industry for the past 25 years in a variety of positions including server, bartender and executive chef, according to her profile on the event website.
The competition draws hundreds of the world’s best cooks and chefs and averages 25,000 attendees a day between Nov. 12-18, according to the event website.
There were 35 entries in the sandwich competition and Fairchild-Cochran scored 87.7 points.
