SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Construction of a roundabout at the intersection of state Highways 12 and 113 near Rio Vista in Solano County is proceeding on schedule, with the current traffic configuration expected to remain in place until the end of August, a Caltrans official said this week in a project update.

Weather and other circumstances permitting, Caltrans has scheduled removal of the concrete barriers in the center of the roundabout by the end of August, said Caltrans District 4 Spokeswoman Janis Mara.

Once the barriers are removed, the traffic lane configuration will stay the same except the roundabout circle will be fully functional, Mara said.

The speed limit within the roundabout construction zone on SR-12 and SR-113 is still 25 mph as it has been since work on the project started in early May, according to Caltrans.

"California Highway Patrol officers are monitoring the area," Mara said. "Caltrans asks motorists to slow down and be work-zone alert."
