Transient Gravely Injured In Vallejo Hit-And-Run: Police

The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene and is being sought for questioning, according to police.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision late Friday in Vallejo that seriously injured a pedestrian. Police responded to the collision at 10:26 p.m. on the 300 block of Couch Street, according to a news release. A 40-year-old male transient was struck by a vehicle that was traveling southbound on Couch Street toward Valle Vista Avenue.

The victim was given life-saving aid and taken by helicopter to a hospital with grave injuries, police said.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene and is being sought for questioning, according to police, who are investigating whether alcohol and/or drugs were factors in the collision. It is uncertain whether
the driver was aware that the pedestrian had been hit.
