2 Berkeley Schools Named 2023 California Distinguished Schools

BERKELEY, CA — Berkeley Arts Magnet Elementary School and Ruth Acty Elementary School were named 2023 California Distinguished Schools.

We congratulate our educators, students and families from Berkeley Arts Magnet Elementary School and Ruth Acty Elementary School for being selected for the prestigious 2023 California Distinguished Schools Program.

In what the California Department of Education calls “exemplary achievements,” these two BUSD schools were selected based on performance across multiple measures of success, which includes through analysis of data reported through the 2022 California School Dashboard.

It’s important that we recognize and celebrate improvements and success in our schools–especially at a time when we returned to in-person learning after the COVID-19 pandemic as we work in fulfillment of BUSD’s mission to enable and inspire our diverse student body to achieve academic excellence and make positive contributions to our world.
