Police say the driver stayed at the scene, cooperated with investigators, and that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash that shut the intersection for hours.

Launch Angle: New Career Programming for 1L Students Makes 'Practice Ready' a First-Semester Priority (berkeley.edu) — Berkeley Law is rolling out its 1L Launch program to get first-year students "practice ready" much earlier amid Big Law's accelerated hiring timeline. 4. UC Berkeley researchers discover ancestor of gene-editing tool CRISPR (dailycal.org) — UC Berkeley scientists have identified VIPR, a virus-based genome editor they believe predates CRISPR and could eventually help treat fast-mutating cancers. The work, led from Jennifer Doudna's Innovative Genomics Institute lab, suggests there may be more genome-editing pathways than previously known and is already sparking interest from other Berkeley researchers eager to test VIPR's potential.
5. Introverts can be Tour Guides Too (berkeley.edu) — A UC Berkeley architecture student shares how an introverted, artistic kid from the Philippines unexpectedly became a campus ambassador giving 90‑minute tours around Berkeley.
