Is This Berkeley Engineer America's Sexiest Vegan?

BERKELEY, CA — Berkeley engineer and devoted vegan Wilson Wong is one of 10 male finalists in the "Sexiest Vegan Next Door" contest that's put on by PETA. If he wins, he gets a free vacation for two to Maui.

Wong has been a vegan for eight years, since a college philosophy class discussed animal rights theory. He encourages his coworkers to go vegan and, at his urging, his company has changed its lunch menu from no vegan options to 70 percent vegan. Away from work, he regularly leads protests and creates graphic-design and guerilla artwork for animal rights issues.

"Whether he's stopping to help an opossum on the side of the road or inspiring his Silicon Valley colleagues to give vegan meals a try, Wilson Wong never stops advocating for animals," says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. "All the finalists in PETA's Sexiest Vegan contest prove that a clear conscience and a compassionate heart are the secret ingredients to sexiness."
