Berkeley High Mountain Bike Team to Compete in State Championships Sunday

More than 20 Berkeley High students are a part of the school's club team.

Since its formation in 1998, the Berkeley High Mountain Bike team has been a fixture at the school and a leader in helping the sport grow in Northern California.

It's still far from commonplace to find high schools with teams, but Berkeley competed against more than 50 teams from the state this year and is preparing for its final race of the season on Sunday in Los Olivos.

The State Championship race's course between Santa Maria and Santa Barbara and will host riders from all over California.
