Slice of Our Markets begins with an exclusive guided tour of the North Berkeley Farmers' Market, led by Ecology Center staff. Meet the farmers behind your food, hear their stories, and gain a deeper appreciation for the sustainable practices that nourish our communities and strengthen connections between local farms and the people they feed.
Following the tour, gather at Vintage Berkeley for a farm-to-table experience featuring seasonal, wood-fired pizza and fresh bites prepared by our Farmers' Market Manager, Daniel McChesney-Young, whose culinary background includes A16. Daniel's menu showcases peak-season ingredients sourced directly from the Berkeley Farmers' Market, highlighting exceptional local flavors while celebrating the connections between farmers, sustainable agriculture, and our community. Enjoy local wine, beer, and seasonal accompaniments as you connect with fellow supporters who share a passion for healthy food, thriving communities, and environmental stewardship.
More than a memorable evening, Slice of Our Markets is a fundraiser for the Ecology Center. Every ticket purchased helps sustain and strengthen the work behind our farmers' markets, expand access to fresh, healthy food through programs like Market Match, and support our leadership in convening the California Alliance of Farmers' Markets, where we help strengthen farmers' markets across the state. Together, these efforts build a more resilient, equitable, and thriving food system for California.
