Berkeley Baroque Strings opens its thirteenth season with works by composers from across the pond. The program includes Henry Purcell’s Overture in G Minor and two Fantasies, George Frideric Handel’s Concerto Grosso in D Major and Alexander’s Feast, and Overture to The Tempest by John Christopher Smith, who became musical assistant to Handel.
Under the music direction of Kati Kyme, longtime member of the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Cantata Collective, Agave, and String Circle Quartet, the chamber orchestra is an affiliate of the San Francisco Early Music Society.
