Chilean Consulate Releases Statement on Adolfo Celedon Murder

The Consulate General of Chile in San Francisco released a statement Tuesday calling for justice in the unsolved murder of Chilean native Adolfo Celedon.

Celedon was shot and killed by two armed robbers on Sept. 12, 2010, while walking with his fiance by the corner of Emerson and Adeline streets in Berkeley. It was his 35 birthday.

“This crime has a high priority and is a sensitive matter of concern to the Chilean Government,” the Consulate’s statement said. “We request the community and witnesses of this assassination to provide to the Berkeley Police any piece of information that could be helpful to solve this investigation.”

The Berkeley Police Department has led the investigation of the crime, but it has been unable to identify any suspects.
