Among the very few living traditions that trace through women, henna has enriched the lives of women for over five thousand years. Native to multiple cultures of varying faith traditions, it unifies them in their belief that each henna design signifies a blessing from their god(s).
Henna is an all natural dye that is made from the ground up leaves of the henna plant, often mixed with essencial oils to enhance the rich brown color. We only use organic ingriedients in our henna mix.

Katya Madrid, the founder of Katya's Henna Corner, grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia, where she got a thorough soaking in the arts. Followed by further emersion in New York City, her path was set. She got her BA from Boston University, where she studied fine art and film. In 2007, Madrid went back to Russia to work on her Masters in Art History at the European University in St. Petersburg.
Madrid has practiced the art Henna for 19 years. In that time, she has trained several generations of artists in this beautiful, old art form. She approaches each design as a co-creation with her “living canvas”, making sure that the outcome is a reflection of both of them. She only uses organic henna powder, and the finest essential oils in her recipe.
