Startup America and Other Obama Initiatives To Support Entrepreneurs

 Echols says her top priority is to shake capital loose for businesses and help jump-start job growth. Her mission is to focus the regional SBA effort on capital, counseling, and contracts and to nurture high-impact, high-growth businesses, including clean tech, IT, and medical devices. Echols has a background in government, nonprofits, technology and business. She was the director of the U.S. Green Building Council’s Northern California chapter, chief executive of OpNet, an education and technology nonprofit, and a policy director for Google.
