Let’s hold the US DEA accountable! On May 11 a US
helicopter carrying US DEA agents, security contractors and Honduran military
fired on a small boat killing two pregnant women, a 14-year-old boy and a
21-year-old man, and seriously injuring at least four others. Maria Robinson,
former Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras,
was a member of the first human rights delegation to visit the massacre site in
Ahuas, Moskitia region, Honduras. Maria’s talk will be accompanied by a slide presentation of photos from her trip. She will discuss how the delegation is calling for a Congressional investigation that identifies criminal responsibility in the massacre, the withdrawal of US security forces from Honduras,
suspension of US military
assistance to Central America, and release of
the video which the DEA maintains exonerates its actions.
