Pedestrian Killed, Driver At Large In Berkeley Hit-And-Run
A pedestrian was killed Monday after being struck by a vehicle whose driver remains at large, police said.
BERKELEY, CA — A pedestrian was killed Monday after being struck by a vehicle whose driver remains at large, Berkeley police said.
Around 10:30 a.m., a UC Berkeley police officer was driving on Sixth Street when he saw a gray Nissan four-door sedan parked along the curb and heard a woman inside the vehicle screaming for help, authorities said.
As the officer approached, the driver sped away hit and killed a female pedestrian on University Avenue west of Sixth Street. Her name has not been released.

The car was last seen fleeing onto Interstate 80 and remained at large Monday afternoon. Anyone with information was asked to call police at 510-981-5741.
