Homeless Thief Attempts Getaway On Ford GoBike: Cops

Police report that they recovered $900 in stolen clothing.

BERKELEY, CA — A homeless shoplifting suspect who attempted to make his getaway on a Ford GoBike was arrested last week in Berkeley, according to police.

On June 26, police responded to the REI at 1338 San Pablo Ave., just after 2:20 p.m.

Christopher Scott Sinclair, 28, was nearby and heading south on 10th Street near Camelia Street when officers allegedly saw him on the bike-share bicycle.

Sinclair was detained, and police say they recovered roughly $900 in stolen clothing when they arrested him on suspicion of grand theft, as well as an outstanding arrest warrant.

Officers then rode the Ford Go-Bike back to a nearby kiosk, and posted it on YouTube.
